Gil is the principal owner and President of MDG, a Minority Business Enterprise that is dedicated to improving the economic advancement of minorities within the United States. As a national leader in federal housing (HUD Section 3), he has led numerous ground-breaking projects that have provided impact and economic viability to minorities. Over the past 30 years he has had unparalleled success in creating partnerships that deliver expertise, qualifications and minority participation to projects. With his respectful approach and philosophy, Gil is the perfect leader for the Minority Diversity Group, MDG.

RON MASON

President

A visionary leader whose business philosophy is centered upon building relationships, Ron founded MDG Group of Companies in 2008 and built it into the diverse company it is today. With over three decades of business experience, Ron brings a unique perspective that promotes safe, high quality projects. He expertly assembles energetic teams of professionals who embody MDG’s core values while also providing strategic, fiscal, and operational leadership. With his First Nations heritage, Ron embraces a model of inclusion and demonstrates how minority participation brings immense value not only to local communities but to the industry as a whole.

CHARLES WRIGHT

VP of Business Development

As a results-driven leader, Charles combines his degree in Business Administration with strategic planning, process improvements, and team development to deliver project success. His comprehensive understanding of government and industry regulations ensure that safety and quality are prioritized. Charles is an innovative problem-solver that can evaluate situations and quickly make the appropriate decisions. Through his strong communication and organizational skills, Charles liaises with all project stakeholders creating a collaborative team that ensures all goals are achieved.

JOS CLEMENT

VP of Fluid Management

With over 30 years’ experience, Jos is an expert in dredging, dewatering, high volume pumping, temporary pipeline services and land reclamation. Jos brings a unique skill set with his active involvement in the design and construction of numerous custom dredges and supporting equipment. Jos has successfully executed projects for a wide range of major clients spanning the industrial, energy and utilities industries, and all levels of government. His hands-on management experience leads the MDG team through all phases of a project and provides clients with an optimal project solution.

DEB TANSLEY

Administration & Marketing

Deb is MDG’s go-to for all bid and proposal preparation, project administration, organizational management and marketing. Between her decades of marketing and business experience and her immense knowledge of MDG’s inner workings, Deb leads the team on both corporate and project-based tasks from contract management to corporate branding and from document control to processes and procedures. Meticulously detail-oriented, Deb applies her organizational and relationship skills to her collaborations with MDG’s team and clients.

Boat Operator

Position located at 1652 Hog Island Road, near Surry, VA.

MDG offers wide-ranging fluid management, tailings management, and dredging services. Our talented team has extensive experience in the industry, allowing us to provide innovative contract dredging, dewatering, dredge and pump sales, and system installation services.

MDG (Minority Diversity Group) advances minority opportunities with our approach to working with local communities and residents to provide opportunity, employment, and positive impact through our projects.

Responsibilities:

Operate 27’ Poseidon Twin 150 Hp Vessel
Launch, dock, and perform associated on water tasks
Towing and pushing of objects such as floating pipeline
Refuelling of boat and on water vessels
Always maintain safe operating procedures of the boat
Actively participate in and follow MDG’s health and safety program
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Experience operating vessels between 15 ft and 40 ft in length in support of dredging operations
Ability to safely navigate Channels
Ability to launch, dock, and perform associated on water tasks
Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
Valid drivers license
Strong verbal communication
Strong commitment to safety
Ability to work a flexible schedule
First Aid Level 1 is an asset
Boating License
Must be Deemed Competent by Site Superintendent
